"The Public Distribution System in India: Ensuring Equitable Distribution of Goods and Services "( Public perception and participation).

The PDS is a government initiative that provides subsidized food grains, such as rice, wheat, and pulses, to eligible beneficiaries through a network of fair price shops. It aims to alleviate hunger, reduce poverty, and promote food security across the nation

One of the key objectives of the PDS is to ensure equitable distribution. By providing essential commodities at affordable prices, the system aims to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, ensuring that no one goes hungry. However, challenges such as leakages, corruption, and inadequate infrastructure have hindered the system's effectiveness

PUBLIC PERCEPTION AND PARTICIPATION:

Public perception of pds varies . While some appreciate to others for its efforts providing foods to poor people . And some are issue like waiting in a line for longtime, poor quality food grains and lack of transparency. Its important to have knowledge about PDS and should be aware so they can utilise the resources properly . In village some people they don't use the opportunity they have. They don't use the resources as much is needed . So their must be awareness among the People. Sometimes public are satisfy how authorities takes efforts. How they corporate with public.

Public participation is crucial for the success of any system.the participation level in the PDS is quite high,as it serves as a lifetime for many families . It can vary from region to region . System that helps support the well being of many individual and families. The citizen also give feedback because its important to known whether the authorities are doing well or not . If its not they can improve are provide best facilties and benefits to public in case of PDS, active involvement of citizens can help to identify loopholes ,ensure transparency and hold authorities accountable . Initiatives likes social audits and audits and mechanisms have been implemented to encourage public participation.

I can tell that PDS Plays a crucial role in ensuring food security for millions of people in India and its worth analyzing impact on the equitable distribution of goods and services . Ensuring benefits reach those who need them the most .people should be aware and have knowledge about this things. And I observe that people don't utilise the resources or takes benefits . Because the government take initiative for their benefit and public should also get involved and give their feedbacks so that system also improved
