Many cultural aspects are overlooked due to the condition of psychological needs in the country. Starting from the cultural heritage and identity which is an integral part of each individual especially in a diverse nation like ours.
Many practices and faiths consider mental health a taboo subject and ignore it. Community and social bonds also affect our psyche, man is a social animal, and it needs likeminded people to be sane.
The people we interact with on a day-to-day basis play an integral part and mold our thoughts and actions. Lastly the traditional practices and rituals we learn affect the way we think and approach situations in life. At last, I'd end by saying that psychology marks the triumph of human civilizational evolution, and its purpose is to give us an idea of what we know best.
I think that culture has indeed had an effect on our psyche, however certain stigmas arounf mental health has caused the societal pressure to cripple people's courage to get help when needed which where the actual change is required rather than completely changing traditions or overlooking them all together
